And so it begins...

My "HUGE little" baby is starting to walk! Bumps and bruises everywhere. On Monday morning I put Coast down for a nap at 10. Around 10:30 he woke up crying so I went to get him. I hadnt gotten the chance yet to shower so I put toys in the living room so he could play! I dont know what I was thinking because I cant get anything done while hes awake, or asleep for that matter. So I hurried and jumped in the shower. Yeah right, the second I got in, Coasts pidder padder of his little hands and feet were now in the bathroom and climbing up the side of the tub! I guess his hand slipped on the shower curtain causing him to fall and smack his eye on the bath tub! I jumped out dripping wet, not even grabbing a towel or turning the shower off, and grabbed him! Yes, the eye was bleeding, but not bad enough that he needed stitches. Thank goodness! So I laid in our bed with him to try and calm him down, and when he is hurt he does not like to cuddle, he wants to cry it out with his own space, but he needs me there by his side! So here I am naked sopping wet laying in bed with the boy, he falls asleep. Now I cant leave because if I move and he wakes up, he will fall off the bed leading to yet another BONK! Oh the joys of motherhood! Now I am scared to take him out for fear someone will call child services on me!
Here are a few new things Coast can do since turning 1:
He barks when he sees a dog (LOVES animals)
He meows when he sees a cat
He waves at everything ie: airplanes, cars, the TV etc...
He can say "Hi guys"
He can say "Uh oh"
He can say "Nana"
He can say "Apple"
He can say "Mom"
He can say "Dad"
He can say "Bath"
He loves to dance when he hears any sort of music
He likes to sing with Mom
He jumps in his crib
He bonks his head at least 5 times a day
He can crawl
He can almost walk by himself
He is so destructive
He has 7 teeth
We just love him to pieces!!

  3. Coasten is darling! Can't believe he's walking. I hear ya with all the bumps and bruises. Kate has been walking for 6 months and she still has pretty bad falls at least once a week. There's permenant bruises and scratches on her knees and head ... oh well, I guess that's just what comes with kids that age.
