Baby Girl Shower

I was lucky enough to be the friend and 1st person to throw Ashley a baby shower, for her 1st born due to come this November. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to throw a party. This shower was a lot of fun because I was finally able to decorate for a GIRL, I am so used to boys! Quick recap of Ash and I:
Nate and I had been married for 7 months when we moved from Bountiful to SugarHouse. We moved into the Irving Schoolhouse Apts right on 21st S. Our first Sunday in our new ward just so happened to be Eric and Ashley's first Sunday too. They had just returned from their Honeymoon the night before. We were taken around our NEW ward by some lady that gave "Tours" to the new people.. Nice made up calling, so BIZARRE.
Anyway, the Smiths and Saunders have been GREAT friends ever since:)

Shower decor.. The theme was Vintage Garden

The beverage, Raspberry Lemonade

Mason jars with the cutest paper straws from Gygi's, my SIL family business. Amazing store, I wish I had the budget to have everything in there!

Now I know Carnations are the "Death" flower, but I could not resist the bright vibrant colors of these baby Carnations for this Girly party. Let's liven up the dreary outside shall we?! And let's face it, they last FOREVER

So pretty in an over sized Mason Jar

3 of the 4 Tissue Paper Pom-Poms

Can I tell you how obsessed I am with the Instagram App on my IPhone.. I am crazy in LOVE with how it makes my photos look. Now if only I could get real Photoshop on my desktop.. Humm

The Cake Pops. I spent 2 nights after my family had gone to bed, making these babies.. My first time and I think I have MASTERED the art of making them, they were almost too cute to eat! Think I made about 50

This was the weather the day of the shower, wet and rainy.. So it messed up my plans to use my patio outside! Ugh, rain I LOVE you but sometimes you mess me up! LOL

I gave these Pom-Poms to Ash after the shower to decorate baby girl's nursery. There was an apple green too

A portion of the Cake Pop display

The BEST green salad EVER, Pretzel Salad with a mustard poppy-seed vinaigrette dressing
YUM, I'm hungry, too bad Nathan can't indulge in leafy greens

Fresh fruit, I am gonna miss this for the next 6 months

More Cake Pops. PS.. I found ALL of my glassware at Savers and the DI.. Oh how I LOVE those stores, Im pretty sure my MIL thinks I'm absolutely disgusting:)

Some more scape

Another view

Aaand another.. I had some Lanterns, moss rocks, old vintage fabrics and Lace, retro vases, an iron cage plus other fabulous things..

More of the decor, I made a vertical banner with old paper doilies that my sis had from back in the day.. it was actually very pretty, it added another lace element..

The retro/vintage fabric , I bought from Savers imagine the lace on top of it, super pretty! I am thinking of making a wearable piece out of that bright fabric in the back, totally polyester. LOVE

AND the Chandy.. I was thrilled that it turned out so well. I really wanted to hang a chandlier above my table scape, but I knew that if I did so it'd be pretty permanent. So plan B, I drew a silhouette of one on poster board and painted it the desired color, then poked holes and added my"BLING" with fishing line.. Hung it with the line and tacks and Ta Da.. It is still hanging from the ceiling above my table as we speak, I just cant take it down yet, it was so much fun to make and took a long time too!
I had so much fun with this shower, I am glad we had a great turnout even though the weather was super crappy.. Ash you are going to be such a cute lil Mommy, I cant wait to see her in 4.5 ish weeks..
Next up: Hydes 1st Birthday Party. Stay tuned, its gonna be cute
