So instead of "Spring Cleaning" I am "Winter Cleaning", there is no better time than right now to do it. I mean lets get serious, who wants to deep clean when its sunny and warm outside?! So why not celebrate the New Year with a clean home. Out with the old, in with the new!
I spent one afternoon (while the kids were sleeping... Yay) cleaning out my closet full of clothes, some that I wear and most that I dont. I created 3 piles of "keeper" clothing items: out-on-the-town, pj/lounge, camping/hair/dirty work etc.. Then a pile of "get rid of, never gonna wear" clothing items. Often times I find myself keeping items of clothing that I think I might wear someday and as years pass (yes years) I can honestly say that a lot of clothes in my closet never get worn.... So I decided, without a lot of hesitation, that someone out there that needs these clothes more than I, would HAPPILY wear these items!
1 HUGE black garbage sack later we (the kids and I) were in line at the nearest DI donating these clothes (some still with the tags on them) to people who dont have the means to buy clothing. Man, can I tell you how good I feel?! My closet has been staring at me with the evil eye every time I open it. Now it greets me with a smile!
So here are "some" items I am dying to have hang in my closet in 2011. Some I want to add to other areas around the home. I am sure the Hubs is going to LOVE that... Ha
Cleanliness is next to Godliness... It feels G.O.O.D
Go Shan! I am SUPER impressed! Want to come do my house next ;)
ReplyDeletei love a good closet cleaning! and i love that throw!
ReplyDeleteI totally love cleaning and getting rid of stuff. I need to do that with my closet too since things are crammed in there and yet I probably wear 10% of the stuff. Hope everything is going well for you guys. Your boys are completely darling and I love all their clothes by the way.
ReplyDeleteShana your are my inspiration. I still have clothes in my closet from when I first worked at American Eagle that I can't part with. I must do it though. I think I will be donating some clothes this weekend. Once Owen is older we need to do a play date so I can catch up with everything that's happened with you. I plan to be very good friends with you . . . very good (imagine me saying that in a creepy way. J/k. totally kidding).
