Thanks to everyone who made a comment on our blog about Nates heart procedure! Nate updated a little about how things went and I thought I would just feel in the gaps.
Last Monday morning the 29th he went in for the procedure to take a closer look at the valve itself, along with cauterizing the sections of the heart that were causing these irregular heart beats, and checking to see if Nate needed a defibrillator! The procedure took a very long 6 hours, and I was updated every hour.
First the great news: Nates valve looks great, we always had a little concern about it, but all in all it looks awesome! Also Nates heart was tested for sudden death, and as of now he is not at high risk. YAY, no defibrillator...
Now the not so great news: The Saturday that we were admitted to the hospital, Nate suddenly no longer had these PVC's, which means that during the procedure doctors were not able to cauterize those sections of the heart throwing these PVC's.. With Nate having so many of these PVC's all the time we were/are a little discouraged because the second he walked out of the hospital the PVC's came back in full force!
So.... after almost a week in the hospital and Nate begging to be released early (which he was) we now have to schedule a later date for this procedure once again. At least we have already hit our max out of pocket and will not have to pay for this all over again!!
Thanks to everyone for all your prayers, I truly believe that because of your prayers Nate stopped having these PVC's, and had good reports from his Dr.s for the most part... I will update when we go back into the hospital!
When Nate went into the Hospital for his 2nd open heart surgery, 6 weeks after Coasten was born, I took a picture of my 2 boys during Nates hospital stay! So this time with Coast being almost 21 months old, we recreated that picture on the hospital bed!
i love the recreating the picture. he has gotten so much bigger and such a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that the valve looks good and everything worked out. I'm glad Nate was able to come home. Nothing worse than being stuck at the hospital for that long. You guys are such troopers! I don't know how you do it!
