Today Coasten Faust Smith turned 1.. I cannot believe that one year ago on July 23, 2008, at 8:14 in the morning, I gave birth to my first child! This past year has been the greatest year Nate and I have ever known! Everyone always says that you dont know what you did before you had kids. That is so true, we cannot remember what we did before Coast came into our lives. It seems as though we have always had him. I know that we made this arrangement in the pre existence, and I am so lucky that he chose us to be his parents! This is an emotional day, because I remember the first time I got to hold him in my arms. So so tiny, he just looked up at me like he had so much to tell me about, but couldnt get it out. Wow! I remember every moment about labor, and it was the most worth while experience, I LOVED the entire 14 hours of it, so incredible. I could do that over, and over, and over again.. We are so thrilled to have this sweet baby in our lives, he has taught me more about life and the meaning of it, more than anyone ever could.. We love you Coasten...
Here are some things about Coast:
He weighs approx 26 lbs
He is about 30 inches tall
He has 5 teeth and so many more on the way
He can almost crawl, but prefers to stand and be on his feet
He is SO tender hearted (it melts my heart)
He loves to play copy cat
He may or may not have said his first word, but loves to jabber
He has slept 12 or more hours through the night since he was 7 weeks old
He gets so excited when Dad gets home from work
He LOVES being outside and in the water
He understands what I am saying to him
He LOVES giving kisses and hugs
He likes to test me to see how close he can get
He is ALWAYS smiling, and is so happy
He gets slap happy when hes tired (just like his momma)
He LOVES to play rough, sooo rough
He likes pulling hair, and always laughs when he does
He can do the center splits (this is so true)
He gets a haircut every week and has since he was 3 weeks old
He is a ladys man and loves attention
He LOVES food and gets so excited when anyone eats in front of him
He is FULL of energy
I could go on and on, but I am running out of room! I am so lucky that I am his MOM and have truly enjoyed every moment, even the hard ones!

ReplyDeleteI can not believe our babies are already a year old! It went so fast. It seems like we were at Uinta just yesterday. :) Coasten is so cute! I hope everything is going good for you and Nate!
